A Global Perspective on Wellness

Cecilia’s professional journey eventually expanded into holistic health and wellness.

As a wellness practitioner, she has pursued specialized professional education and training while exploring wellness traditions and healing practices around the world.

An international traveler,  Cecilia has experienced diverse cultures, traditional wellness practices, communities, and nature-based destinations. Her travels have helped shape St. Michael’s philosophy of creating experiences that go beyond traditional wellness and tourism to foster connection, renewal, cultural understanding, and purpose.

From Personal Wellness to Community Wellness

Cecilia’s understanding of wellness has continued to evolve.

What began as a focus on individual health and well-being gradually expanded into a broader philosophy: the wellness of people is interconnected with the wellness of their communities and the environment in which they live.

That philosophy became especially significant with the establishment of St. Michael Health & Wellness Center in Calatagan, Batangas.

Living and working alongside coastal communities brought Cecilia closer to fisherfolk, farmers, women entrepreneurs, Marine Protected Area leaders, barangays, government agencies, schools, environmental organizations, and families whose livelihoods are directly connected to the natural environment.

These relationships helped expand St. Michael’s mission beyond traditional wellness into community wellness, livelihood development, marine conservation, biodiversity, education, and nature-based ecotourism.

Connecting Communities & Conservation

Today, Cecilia is helping build partnerships that connect community members with academic institutions, conservation organizations, government agencies, private-sector partners, researchers, volunteers, and international networks.

Her work supports collaborative initiatives involving Marine Protected Areas, coastal and underwater cleanups, mangrove conservation, marine biodiversity education, responsible fishing, environmental research and monitoring, community livelihood, and conservation-centered tourism.

She has also helped advance SURFACE TO SEAFLOOR™, St. Michael’s marine conservation initiative focused on bringing communities and partner organizations together to help protect coastal and underwater environments while strengthening awareness and shared environmental responsibility.

For Cecilia, marine conservation is fundamentally connected to human well-being. Healthy marine ecosystems support food security, fisherfolk livelihoods, community resilience, tourism, and economic opportunity.

M.A.R.I.N.E.: Connecting Conservation, Education & Ecotourism

Through M.A.R.I.N.E., Cecilia is leading St. Michael’s development of immersive experiences that connect marine adventure, research and education, community engagement, nature, conservation, and ecotourism.

The initiative brings together experiences such as marine and biodiversity expeditions, diving, snorkeling, responsible fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, mangrove activities, conservation projects, community immersion, and educational programs.

The vision extends beyond bringing visitors to Calatagan.

It is about creating opportunities for visitors, students, researchers, divers, anglers, and international travelers to understand the places they experience, connect with the communities that protect them, and recognize their own role in responsible environmental stewardship.

Cecilia believes thoughtfully developed ecotourism can become a bridge between conservation and sustainable economic opportunity, particularly when communities are active partners and beneficiaries.

Leadership With Purpose

Across her career—from communications and higher education to wellness, community development, and conservation—Cecilia’s work has consistently centered on the ability to connect people around a shared purpose.

Her approach combines strategic communications with relationship building: listening to communities, bringing different sectors to the same table, identifying common goals, and transforming ideas into partnerships and action.

For Cecilia, leadership is not simply about building a successful company. It is about using the company’s resources, relationships, expertise, and platform to contribute to something larger.

The St. Michael Brand Promise

At the heart of Cecilia’s leadership is a commitment to ensuring that the St. Michael brand represents more than a service, product, destination, or experience.

The St. Michael Brand Promise:

St. Michael creates meaningful experiences that nurture personal well-being, strengthen communities, and protect the natural environment—connecting people, purpose, and place to inspire lasting transformational change.

The promise reflects St. Michael’s guiding belief:

“We believe in the pursuit of health and wellness in a holistic way to create transformational change.”

For Cecilia, wellness is interconnected.

Healthy people contribute to stronger communities. Strong communities are better positioned to protect their natural resources. Healthy oceans sustain livelihoods and food sources. Education creates understanding. Responsible travel creates connections. Conservation protects opportunities for generations to come.

Her vision for St. Michael is therefore both personal and collective: to build a company where wellness, conservation, education, community empowerment, and responsible tourism work together with purpose.

It is a vision in which success is measured not only by the experiences St. Michael creates, but also by the relationships it builds, the communities it strengthens, the environments it helps protect, and the lasting transformational change it leaves behind.
