Turkey- Spices and Essential Oils

Turkey is one of the most beautiful countries to visit.  It takes a 12 hour plane ride from Washington DC to Istanbul, the capital of Turkey.

It is a sensory overload for sure.  From colors, textures, scents to taste. 

Also known for its most appetizing cuisines in the world,  Turkish food and culture displays a wide variety of bold flavors and spices. Each region represents a unique diversity of cheeses that give sweet, mild, milky, buttery, delicate, salty, sharp, acidic, tart, tangy, lemony, bitter, nutty, flavors.  Spices and aromatic exquisite oils are staples in the Spice Market.  

Turkish textiles are colorful and beautiful, with many varieties of different patterns, designs, and textures. Anatolian dye masters reflect plants and insects, reflecting the colors unique to Anatolian culture and history.
Red is the most well-known color in Turkish textiles and carpets.

Turkey is one of the most beautiful countries to visit. During the rule of Constantine the Great, the city of Byzantium, given the name of Constantinople, became known as Istanbul, as the new capital of the Roman Empire during the height of its territorial expansion.  

Turkey is famous for its antiquities, such as the Göbekli Tepe, the oldest known man-made temple structure in the world, and the Çatalhöyük is a substantial Neolithic and Chalcolithic settlement.

According to Biblical sources and based on the Acts of the Apostles, a city known as Antioch is part of southern Turkey where followers of Jesus, such as the Apostle Paul of Tarsus, traveled.
