Travel Blog: Turkish Baths/Hammam

We visited one of the oldest hammam in Turkey. Located near Mosque of Sofia in the middle of Taksim, is AyaSofia Hammam that has been offering public baths for men and women since 1556. The Hammams are separated for male and female. It provides a pampering luxurious get-away for 2-3 hrs or more depending on different levels of packages .

A very relaxing environment, each clients get his/her own quarter to even relax after the massage. A special experience of aromatherapy products such as soaps, oils and mud clays. At the end of the session, a sweet treat of Turkish delights dessert served with Turkish coffee or tea.
It is one of the most relaxing experience that anyone must enjoy. The warm water, steamed marble floors , opened space and attentive message therapists makes the experience unforgettable .

History tells us that hammam gave birth to modern spa and massage around the world. Hammam (Arabic: حمّام, romanized: ḥammām, Turkish: hamam) is a type of steam bath or a place of public bathing . While back in the old days, hammam was associated with the Islamic world, it is just now a relaxation treatment for both men and women, young and old .
