Today was a reminder that protecting our oceans begins with a community that cares.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Ang Pulo Palitakan Organization, whose members continue to stand at the forefront of safeguarding our coastal environment. Alongside them were the Philippine Coast Guard Sub-Station Calatagan and the dedicated fisherfolk from Talisay, Gulod, Bigaa, and Quilitisan—the true stewards of our seas whose lives and livelihoods are deeply connected to the health of our marine ecosystems.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Philippine National Police (PNP), Calatagan Against Crime Group Society (CACGS), Guardians, Mahalina Foundation, and the St. Michael Health & Wellness team for their special participation and unwavering support.
Together, we collected 30 sacks of trash and debris, protected the mangroves, strengthened community partnerships, and demonstrated that marine conservation is everyone’s responsibility. Every sack of trash collected and every hour volunteered is an investment in cleaner coastlines, healthier fisheries, stronger biodiversity, and a more sustainable future for Calatagan.
This clean-up was more than a community activity—it was a testament to what can be accomplished when government agencies, civic organizations, fisherfolk, nonprofits, and volunteers unite with one shared purpose: to protect the sea that sustains us all.
