The word “Korea” is derived from the ancient Korean word “Goryeo,” referred to as “the Land of Morning Calm. Geographically, Korea is located between China and Japan. A beautiful country, rugged coastline with numerous islands and the mountainous the Korean Peninsula . The peninsula is about 600 miles from its northern tip to its southern end. Han River, is as a major river flowing through the central part of the peninsula. It is considered an important strategic geographical feature for military, economic, social, and diplomatic reasons. Korean values of kimchi and the kimjang culture are prominent in Korean traditions. Other admiring values include the ancient philosophy of yin and yang, the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water), medicinal food, beauty, wellness and family piety.
We enjoyed our trip exploring some of the most beautiful tourist destinations such as the Nami Island.
